Friedrich Pfeffer was a son of Ignatz Pfeffer and Jeanet Hirsch. He married Vera Bythiner, with whom he had a son who survived the war. After he divorced his first wife he had a catholic girlfriend. End 1938 they fled to the Netherlands.

Friedrich Pfeffer (also known as Fritz) was a dentist. Thanks to one of his patients, he could go into hiding. In the fall of 1942 he became the eighth person in hiding at Prinsengracht 263.
