Work on the Digital Monument and Community website

What do the Digital Monument and Community volunteers and employees do?

Four volunteers monitor the Community website. They make sure that factual mistakes are corrected and help users to post their stories and other materials. Employees and volunteers of the Jewish Historical Museum maintain the websites and work on the projects that sparked from the DM and Community.

Some examples from projects run in 2011: the "Jewish Houses" poster campaign, where people living in houses that were the homes of Amsterdams Jews prior to deportation put a poster in their window commemorating this fact on the 4th of May (Memorial Day) Joodse Huizen. Also, employees facilitated research into the DM and Community - for example from Tilburg University and the University of Amsterdam and provide services for publications such as this.
Furthermore, information on war memorials from this website was incorporated into the DM; references to the CABR-files that contain records of warcrimes were included.
Many other sources are waiting to be integrated in this manner.
