Actively participating in the community

Using the New contribution option, under the Contributions button, you can add stories and announce events.

Stories and articles
Under New Contribution, select the option +Story to publish an article of your own on the site. Start by giving the article a title, then edit the other fields. Divide the article over the various fields according to your own criteria. You can also upload images from your computer and embed them in the text. Don’t forget to give each image a clear caption.

Add keywords to make your article easy to find. You can select keywords from the keyword list, or add your own keywords.

Use the About option to link the article to individuals mentioned in the text.

Use the +Location option to indicate in what location, e.g., the name of the street the article takes place. The button Which year did this happen is for when the story takes place.

When you are ready to publish the article, click Save this page.

Responding to existing content:

Commenting on articles and stories
You can comment on existing stories using the Comment field under the story. Enter your comment in the blue text box and click OK. Your comment appears underneath the story.

You can also upload photos, using the photo icon. Uploaded photos appear on the page where you added your comment. For example, you can search Jewish Monument for someone whose picture is part of the Digital Monument. Using the comments function, you can then add the picture to that individual’s personal page on the Jewish Monument site. Don’t forget to tag the picture.

You can add comments to any page on the site.

“Interested in”
Many areas of the site feature the I’m interested button. This button is also accessible under All actions. Clicking this button indicates you like something or are interested in it. Your interests are displayed on your profile page, allowing other users of the site to see which topics, articles and people interest you.
